Just when defeat seemed inevitable, former Rivers United star Rafiu Isahq stepped up, delivering a brilliant performance to rescue his team from disaster, Footballrover reports.

With a crucial goal and a brilliant assist, the Nigerian forward played a vital role in securing a dramatic 2-2 draw at Športni Park Lendava.

Early setback, early comeback saves Primorje from disaster

Primorje, desperate to break a two-game losing streak, were rocked early on when Nafta struck twice in two minutes through Aleks Pihler and Josip Spoljaric.

The visitors looked out of sorts, struggling to contain their opponents’ attacking pressure.

However, Rafiu Isahq sparked the comeback in the 25th minute, calmly tapping in a close-range effort after a well-placed header from Gasper Petek inside the box.

Just nine minutes later, the one-cap Super Eagles star turned provider, skilfully beating his marker before setting up Mark Gulic for the equaliser.
