Rivers United forward – Ishaq Kayode Rafiu is thrilled and just can’t stop expressing his delight at the opportunity to represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The forward, who couldn’t contain his enthusiasm took to his social media page to say that it was a dream come true for him to fly the Nigerian colour and build a legacy of unforgettable memories.
Ishaq Rafiu made his debut for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in an international friendly against Mexico on Sunday, May 29, a game they narrowly lost 2-1 before they were also defeated 1-0 by Ecuador on Friday, June 3,
The Rivers United star man came on as a late substitute against the Mexicans in the 79th minute, replacing Simon Moses in a game that fell short of expectations, with the Eagles missing numerous scoring opportunities.
The 21-year-old, who currently has 14 goals in the Nigeria Professional Football League, declared that it’s time to concentrate on his league campaign with Rivers United.
The Pride of Rivers striker went on to say that he wants to accomplish the mission he started with his teammates at Rivers United, and that he’s looking to finish the season as NPFL top scorer.
Ishaq Rafiu, who conveyed his emotions on his official Twitter page, noted:
“It was indeed a dream come through to represent Nigeria with lots of memories that will remain evergreen. Now, itβs time to focus on the @LMCNPFL and finished the good job we have started with @RiversUnitedFC and chase the top scorerβs gong.”
