Oluwatosin Demehin scoring decisive derby goal for Galatasaray Women

Just a day after Victor Osimhen found the back of the net to inspire Galatasaray to a well-deserved victory over Fenerbahçe in their Intercontinental Derby in the Turkish Super Lig, Oluwatosin Demehin followed suit, scoring to lead the women’s team to victory over the same opponents.

The 24-year-old Super Falcons defender registered her first goal of the campaign during the Round 26 clash of the Turkish Women’s Super League at the Florya Metin Oktay Facilities.

The game started brightly for the hosts, who took the lead through Chang Jang’s free kick in the 19th minute.

The visitors equalised just four minutes before the break when Andrea Staskova also scored from a free kick, sending both sides into halftime at 1-1.

Fenerbahçe started the second half strongly and went ahead just a minute after the restart, as Staskova grabbed her second of the game to make it 2-1.

However, the hosts refused to back down. Demehin produced a fine finish to level the score once more with just a minute of regulation time remaining.

Just when it seemed a draw would be a fair outcome, Divine Manga struck a minute later to seal a crucial win for the hosts before the final whistle.

Fenerbahçe Women suffered their first league defeat of the season, while Galatasaray recorded their 22nd win, moving to 64 points—now seven points behind their rivals.

With this momentum, Demehin and her teammates will now turn their attention to their next fixture against Hakkarigücü Spor.

Ezekiel scores but Racing Power fall again

Meanwhile, in the Campeonato Nacional Feminino, Super Falcons star Motunrayo Ezekiel delivered an impressive performance in a Round 16 clash, scoring a goal that ultimately was not enough to save her side, Racing Power, from a narrow away defeat to Torreense.

Her strike came in the second half with Racing already two goals down, and they were unable to complete the comeback and fell to a 2-1 loss.

The hosts took the lead just 15 minutes into the game through Janaina Weimer and carried that advantage into the halftime break.

Four minutes after the restart, Torreense struck again, with Weimer doubling their lead.

However, the former Rivers Angels forward pulled one back for Racing just two minutes later—her fourth goal for the club—but the scoreline remained unchanged until the final whistle.

With two games left in the Portuguese women’s league season, Ezekiel and her teammates must battle hard to avoid slipping into danger, as they sit just three points above the relegation zone.
