18-year-old defender and former NWFL star Oyinlola Olamide has revealed how she had to tug with injuries to still emerge as the Player of the Tournament at the U19 SWIT Cup held in Europe.

Reflecting on her extraordinary accomplishment, Oyinlola expressed her excitement, describing it as a dream come true.
“I feel good; I feel excited because this is a dream come true for me,” she shared with a smile.
The defender added that coming to Europe and winning this type of award shows all the hard work and dedication that she has put into her football career.
When asked about the secret behind her standout performance, Oyinlola attributed it to her relentless hard work and the extra effort she puts into every aspect of her game.
Despite facing challenges, notably battling injuries during the tournament, Oyinlola persevered, crediting the guidance of her medical team for her triumphant return to the pitch.
“I was dealing with injuries and had to overcome them by following the advice of my medical team, and it has helped me a lot,” she said.
Having honed her skills at the La Liga Academy since her arrival in September 2023, the former Naija Ratels star hammered on the transformative impact of her experience in Spain.
“My experience here has been good, and it’s quite different from that in Nigeria in terms of the facilities and the coaches. Everything here is different from where I’m coming from, so I just have to stay focused and keep working hard,” she noted.
Her dedication to improvement and adaptation to the new environment have undoubtedly fueled her rapid development as a player.
“What I’ve learned so far from the coaches has improved me a lot as a football player, and I think my game is now better than when I came to Spain for the first time. I’m seriously improving day by day,” she told Footballrover.
Looking ahead, the Super Falcons prospect is poised to embark on the next chapter of her football journey: signing her first professional contract.
With huge determination, she expressed her aspirations to continue evolving as a player and contributing to the success of her team.
