Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala delivered yet another standout performance for Al Hilal on Thursday evening, scoring once and providing an assist to guide her side to a hard-fought 2-1 home win over Al Qadsiah in the first leg of their SAFF Women’s Cup semi-final.

With Al-Hilal trailing 1-0, Oshoala stepped up when it mattered most. She netted the equaliser to bring her side back into the contest before turning provider for the decisive goal, as her team completed a comeback victory heading into the second leg, Footballrover reports.

Her latest display means she now has 10 goal contributions in her last seven matches, underlining her red-hot form.

The Nigerian international has scored 12 goals in the Saudi Women’s Premier League this season.

Her overall tally for the campaign now stands at an impressive 26 goal contributions, including four assists in the league and two in the Saudi Women’s Cup.

The six-time African Women’s Player of the Year has also been prolific across competitions, registering 20 goals in total—six in the Saudi Women’s Challenge Cup and two in the Saudi Women’s Cup.

Al Qadsiah had taken the lead early in the game through an own goal by Nouf Saud in the 14th minute and held that advantage into the break.

However, 22 minutes into the second half, Oshoala found the back of the net to level the score at 1-1.

She then set up Jessica Silva 11 minutes later to seal the win and give Al Hilal the edge ahead of the return leg next Thursday.

Meanwhile, Super Falcons forward Uchenna Kanu continued her impressive run of form as she grabbed a goal to rescue her team from defeat in the Liga MX Femenil Clausura playoff quarter-final first leg on Thursday.

Kanu scored a stoppage-time equaliser to make sure Cruz Azul salvaged a 1-1 draw against Monterrey at Instalaciones La Noria Cancha 1.

Her team had fallen behind early after Valeria del Campo scored in the 18th minute to give Monterrey the lead. The visitors maintained that advantage for most of the game.

But Kanu came to the rescue in the 90th minute, calmly converting a penalty to ensure the tie remains finely balanced ahead of the second leg.

The 28-year-old Nigerian international has now recorded seven goals in her last six matches, taking her tally to 12 for the season.

Both teams will face off again on May 3 for the decisive second leg.
