The Atlético Madrid forward is among seven talented nominees, which include Barcelona’s Ewa Pajor, Real Madrid’s Caroline Weir, María Llompart from Levante Badalona, Nerea Nevado of Athletic Club Femenino, Karen Araya of Madrid CFF, and Elba Vergés from SD Eibar, Footballrover reports.
The organisers announced that this was the inaugural nomination for Player of the Month from EA Sports FC and Liga F, recognizing the remarkable performances of the players throughout September, which earned them a place on the prestigious list.
Ajibade’s nomination comes on the heels of an impressive start to the season.
Ajibade’s impact on Atlético Madrid’s success
In just two matches, the 24-year-old has made a significant impact with two goals and two assists, showing off her importance to the team.
She contributed an assist in Atlético Madrid’s 2-0 triumph over Granada in the opening match but had to sit out during their narrow 2-1 victory against Deportivo de La Coruña.
However, she returned to action in style, delivering a commandable performance in Atlético’s commanding 4-0 victory over Valencia.
In that match, Ajibade not only assisted in Gabriela Garcia’s opening goal in the 15th minute but also scored twice herself.
Her first goal came from an exquisite touch and finish just before halftime, while her second capitalised on a defensive blunder during stoppage time.
