Nigerian international, Odion Ighalo scored his first hat-trick of the season in Al-Wehda’s resounding home victory on Thursday evening.
Odion Ighalo has continued his fine goalscoring run in the 2023–24 Saudi Professional League season with a hat-trick in Al-Wehda’s 4-2 triumph over Damac.
The Super Eagles legend turned up for his new team with a masterclass display.
Ighalo scored two first-half goals and another in the second half, while Australian striker Craig Goodwin secured the emphatic home result for Al-Wehda.
The 34-year-old Nigerian kicked off the party at the King Abdul Aziz Stadium with the opening goal just 17 minutes into the encounter.
Followed by his second few minutes to the interval.
The Saudi Pro League has witnessed Ighalo bang in a lot of goals, and he completed his hat-trick just seven minutes into the second half.
His counterpart, Craig Goodwin, sealed the victory with his goal in the 62nd minute.
The visiting Damac managed to score twice through Assan Ceesay and Sultan Faqihi, but it wasn’t enough to salvage a point for them.
To compound their misery in the game, Damac played the rest of the second half with men after Noor Al-Rashidi received a red card in the first half.
The last time the former Manchester United star bagged a hat-trick in a league game was in March 2022, when he found the back of the net three times for Al Hilal in Riyadh.
