Former Rivers United star Endurance Ebedebiri carved his name into Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) history on Sunday after scoring the league’s 100th goal of the 2024/25 season.
His decisive strike came in Akwa United’s thrilling encounter against Kano Pillars, sealing a vital victory for the home side, Footballrover reports.
The Promise Keepers handed the visiting Sai Masu Gida side their third defeat of the season at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
The 21-year-old centre-back scored the opening goal, providing Akwa United with their first victory of the season after enduring six previous matches without a win.
Ebedebiri’s first-half goal, coupled with a second-half strike from Friday Apollos, ensured a solid 2-0 win for Akwa United, breaking a three-match consecutive defeat in the NPFL.
