Bayelsa United forward Robert-Mizo Christian has set his sights on breaking into the Nigeria national team, the Super Eagles, and also playing for a top club in Europe.
The BIG9 revealed this in a chat with fans on Wednesday using the hashtag #RobertMizo9 on X (formerly Twitter), Footballrover reports
The 23-year-old striker, who is currently the top scorer in the Nigeria Premier League with six goals, is confident in his ability to reach his goals.
“In the few years to come, I see myself getting better with dedication, breaking into the Nigerian football team, and getting to Europe,” he said.
Mizo is no stranger to success. He was the second-highest scorer in the NPFL last season with nine goals, and he has also represented Nigeria at the U-23 level.
He is a versatile forward who can score goals with both feet and is also a strong dribbler and passer.
Mizo is a huge fan of Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo and models his game after the Portuguese superstar.
The NPFL star admitted that his biggest challenge right now is the environmental factor.
According to him, it is difficult to see or get sponsors in Bayelsa State, and he has to rely on his own resources to improve his game.
But then, the Bayelsa United forward is fully dedicated to his craft and is always looking for ways to improve.
The striker is confident that he can reach his goals if he stays focused and continues to work hard.
Meanwhile, Mizo and his teammates are struggling and currently sit in the 19th position in the NPFL table, having won just two league games out of seven.
Robert Mizo will be looking to continue his goal-scoring streak when Bayelsa United faces Heartland of Owerri in their upcoming fixture.
