The match, played at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State, saw the home team dominate in the second half after a goalless opening period, Footballrover reports.

Despite holding their own before halftime, Nasarawa United couldn’t maintain their defensive resilience as the hosts found their rhythm after the break.

Remo Stars struck three times in just 17 minutes, with goals from Sikiru Alimi, Stanley Joseph, and Ismail Sodiq, leaving the visitors struggling to respond.

The Solid Miners did have their moments, however. Forwards Umar Ibrahim and Terdoo Shimagande came close to making an impact but failed to convert their chances.

Despite flashes of promise, the Nasarawa defence eventually succumbed to Remo Stars’ relentless counter-attacks.

The team’s head coach Kabir Dogo remained upbeat after the game, acknowledging the defeat but refusing to let it overshadow the team’s season.

“The team’s spirit remains unbroken,” Dogo said. We are eager to put this setback behind us as quickly as possible.”

Dogo shifted focus to their next fixture, a crucial home game against Abia Warriors on October 16, expressing confidence in the team’s ability to regroup and improve.

With just three days to prepare, the coaching staff is working hard to analyse the weak points exposed in their defence and attack.

The players are keen to rectify their mistakes and deliver a stronger performance, aiming to win back the support of their loyal fans.

The loss sees Nasarawa United drop to 13th place on the NPFL table with six points, while Remo Stars, with 15 points, now lead the standings after six games.
