Birmingham City fans have something to smile about — Bright Osayi-Samuel has officially joined the great club, bringing fresh hope and experience to the Blues ahead of the new season.

The Super Eagles star signed a three-year deal after leaving Turkish giants Fenerbahce and is ready to hit the ground running, Footballrover reports.

At 27, Osayi-Samuel knows his way around top-level football. Since January 2021, he’s featured 126 times for Fenerbahce, showing off his talent in the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League.
Now, Birmingham will benefit from his pace and versatility — he can slot in as a full-back, wing-back, or winger.

Before his Turkish adventure, Osayi-Samuel was no stranger to English fans. He grew through Blackpool’s youth ranks and made his mark at QPR with over 100 appearances in the Championship.
With 22 caps for Nigeria and a silver medal from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, he brings international experience and a big-match mentality.

“I think it’s the project. I spoke to the owner, I spoke to the manager, and it’s a project with ambitions about what they want to do,” Osayi-Samuel stated.
“Of course they did well last season getting promoted, and the ambition is not just to compete, but to get straight to the Premier League.
“Those are my ambitions too. I want to play in the Premier League and show everyone what I can do, and I think Birmingham City are giving me a platform to showcase that so I think those are the main reasons I decided to come here.”
