Super Eagles forward Simy Nwankwo had a decent outing on Sunday, providing the assist that inspired his team, Al‑Orobah FC, to a hard-earned narrow home victory over Al‑Arabi in the Saudi First Division League.

Simy assisted the only goal of the encounter as the home side secured a 1–0 win over their visitors at the Al‑Oruba Club Stadium, Footballrover reports.

The Round 26 clash saw the Nigerian forward set up Darwin González for the match-winner just 10 minutes into the second half, after the opening period ended goalless.

With that slim victory, Simy and his teammates returned to winning ways following a poor run of form that saw them record one draw and three consecutive defeats.

The 33-year-old Nigerian has now registered two assists this season, taking his total goal contributions to 22 after scoring 20 goals in 19 appearances.

It was a similar story for Bright Godwin in the Liga Portugal 2, as he also provided the only goal contribution to inspire his team, FC Vizela, to a narrow away victory over Felgueiras 1932.

The Round 25 clash saw the 24-year-old Nigerian defender deliver a man-of-the-match performance in Vizela’s 1–0 win over Felgueiras.

The decisive moment came in the 64th minute when Godwin set up Yassin Fortune for the match-winner, a result that moved Vizela up to sixth place with 38 points.

Rasheed Akanbi bag crucial assist in 1. Lig

In the Round 29 clash of the TFF First League, Akanbi also delivered a fine performance for Boluspor, registering an assist in their well-deserved home victory over Iğdır FK.

The 26-year-old winger assisted the opener in Boluspor’s comfortable 2–0 league victory over the 10-man visitors at the Bolu Atatürk Stadium.

Akanbi has now taken his goal contribution tally to nine, having recorded four goals and five assists in 28 matches.

He combined well with Arda Usluoğlu to produce the opening goal just 17 minutes into the match, giving the hosts a slender lead heading into the halftime break.

Twenty-three minutes after the restart, the visitors were reduced to ten men when Oğuz Güçtekin received a straight red card.

Although the hosts capitalised on their numerical advantage, they could only add one more goal through Usluoğlu in the 84th minute, sealing a 2–0 win.

Despite the victory, Boluspor remain 10th on the table with 41 points and will face Çorum FK next.
