Crown FC have their eyes firmly set on an NPFL return — and they’re not alone in the dream. As the Super 8 kicks off in Asaba, Shooting Stars Sports Club have thrown their full support behind the Ajilete Bombers to seal promotion.
The management of Shooting Stars say they trust Crown FC’s hunger and strength to get the job done, Footballrover reports.
The Ogbomoso-based side finished second in their NNL group this season and now stands on the brink of history once again.
Super 8 challenge: Crown FC fired up for battle
The Oyo-based team did not hide their delight when their sister club, the Ajilete Bombers, made it through to the Super 8 playoffs.
Their message was loud and clear: “As the team gets ready to battle the trio of Osun United, Warri Wolves and Kun Khalifat, we use this medium to wish the Ajilete Bombers all the best in their pursuit of the NPFL ticket,” said the club through the media officer Tosin Omojola.
The Ogbomoso Bombers have walked this road before. Founded in 1994 by Rev. Prof. Yusuf Ameh Obaje, they made the top flight in 2010 and returned again in 2013 after beating Fountain FC 1–0.
Though they’ve slipped out of the NPFL since, the fire burns brighter than ever.
The club’s strong ties with Shooting Stars make this push special. Their derby battles have long thrilled fans in Ibadan and Ogbomoso, turning the Lekan Salami Stadium — Crown FC’s current home — into a fortress for local pride.
Crown FC, Shooting Stars and Super Eight dreams
As the Super Eight kicks off, the Ajilete boys must get past Osun United, Warri Wolves, and Kun Khalifat to claim the coveted promotion ticket.
Their story is far from over — and with Shooting Stars in their corner, the Ajilete Bombers will hope to rise again.
If they bring the same spirit that carried them through the regular season, the Ogbomoso Boys might just write a new chapter in their fierce NPFL rivalry with the Oluyole Warriors — this time on the grandest stage.
