Nottingham Forest Coach Nuno Espirito Santo has acknowledged the impressive goal-scorinf form of Taiwo Awoniyi but admitted the striker is still struggling after recovering from a groyne injury.
The Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi returned in January after a three-month absence and has netted twice in his comeback appearances, including the opening goal in Forest’s 2-0 win over West Ham, Footballrover reports.
Prior to being replaced by Divock Origi in the 67th minute, the Super Eagles star had four shots on goal.

However, Santo has revealed that the 26-year-old’s fitness needs careful management, emphasising the importance of strikers contributing beyond just goals.
Nuno Santo told BBC Sports that while scoring is important for strikers, his team also expects them to contribute more than that.
He emphasised the need for strikers to work hard, read the game, and capitalise on scoring opportunities.
“We know he’s struggling in terms of fitness; it’s up to us to manage him,” he said.
Despite his fitness struggles, Awoniyi has managed six goals in just 14 Premier League appearances for Forest this season, starting only ten games.
The Nigerian international will be hoping to continue his goalscoring form and improve his fitness as Forest travels to Villa Park to battle Aston Villa on Saturday.
