Pep Guardiola has admitted he made a mistake in letting young attacker Cole Palmer leave Manchester City for Chelsea last summer.
Palmer has been a revelation at Stamford Bridge, becoming one of the Premier League’s most productive forwards this season, Footballrover reports.
But while at City, Guardiola did not have the patience to allow the youngster to make a name for himself.
He was Chelsea’s main threat along with Raheem Sterling when City hosted the Blues on Saturday, helping them secure a 1-1 draw.

Although he only featured for 71 minutes, his impact was largely felt during the encounter at the Etihad.
Guardiola acknowledged that he didn’t give Palmer enough playing time at City, saying that if Palmer had the minutes he gave to Foden from the beginning, he would still be at the Etihad.
“But I didn’t give it to him; it’s my responsibility,” he admitted.
He explained that established players like Bernardo Silva, Riyad Mahrez, and Phil Foden made it difficult to give Palmer regular opportunities.
“It was that in that moment, I chose the other ones,” Pep said.
Palmer has already made a significant impact at Chelsea, with 12 goals and nine assists in all competitions this season.
He left City with just two Premier League starts last season but has now blossomed into a star at Stamford Bridge.
Guardiola’s decision to sell Palmer is sure to be debated by fans and pundits alike, but there’s no doubt that the young attacker is now thriving at Chelsea.
