Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance in their 1-1 draw against Man City, despite conceding a late equaliser.
The Blues manager watched his side match Pep Guardiola side strength to strength and pace for pace but failed to hold on to their narrow lead, Footballrover reports.
Pochettino commended the team’s fighting spirit and belief, highlighting the importance of these qualities in their upcoming Cup final against Liverpool.

The Chelsea manager admitted that the team needs to believe in their ability in order to defeat Liverpool in the EFL Cup final on Sunday, acknowledging that they would be facing the second-best team in the world.
“I’m so happy; I like how we fight. I think belief is the most important thing,” Pochettino said.
The Blues displayed encouraging signs throughout the match, with Nicolas Jackson squandering a clear goal-scoring opportunity in the first half.
Raheem Sterling should have bagged a brace; however, he could only capitalise on a similar chance to put Chelsea ahead before the break.
Erling Haaland had several chances to equalise, but the visitors mostly held strong until eight minutes remained when Rodri produced his power strike.
Despite conceding a late equaliser, Chelsea’s defensive resilience ensured they secured a valuable point away from home.
