Awoniyi Celebrates with a Faith-Based Message

The forward delivered an early weekend sermon after finding the back of the net.

Awoniyi celebrated his goal with a message inscribed on his undershirt, reading “Kilen F’Olorun Pe” in Yoruba, which translates to “Who are you taking God for?”.

Awoniyi’s Impressive Performance

The Super Eagles star registered four shots on goal before being substituted in the 67th minute and replaced by Divock Origi.

The brilliantly taken goal by Taiwo Awoniyi gave Forest a breathing space heading to the final whistle at City Ground.

Despite conceding in all 13 of their previous league games, Forest held onto a slim lead against a 10-man West Ham team (Kalvin Phillips was given a red card) until Callum Hudson-Odoi scored in the fourth minute of stoppage time to double the home team’s lead and complete a 2-0 victory.
