Josh Maja has continued his brilliant run of form this season as he found the back of the net yet again in West Brom emphatic 3-0 win over Portsmouth at Fratton Park on Sunday.
The Nigerian striker opened the scoring just 54 seconds into the match as the Baggies put out a dominant display in their championship game, Footballrover reports.
Maja capitalised on a perfect cut-back from Tom Fellows, firing the ball into the roof of the net to give West Brom an early lead.
It was a moment of pure poaching instinct, and one that shows his sharpness in front of goal this season.

That very important goal marked Maja’s fifth in just five games for the campaign, a feat only matched by one player across England’s top four divisions: Erling Haaland of Manchester City.
The 24-year-old Nigerian is gradually taking his place as one of the deadliest strikers in the Championship, and his efficiency in front of goal is proving vital to West Bromwich Albion’s strong start.
Maja remained a constant threat throughout the first half, coming close to adding to his tally twice.
In the 26th minute, a powerful effort from inside the box was blocked after a Darnell Furlong cross fell kindly to him.
Just eight minutes later, his towering header from another Furlong delivery was expertly clawed away by the Portsmouth goalkeeper.
Despite these missed opportunities, Maja’s early goal set West Brom on the path to a comfortable win, with Alex Mowatt adding two superb strikes to seal the victory.
Mowatt’s contributions came in the form of a curling effort from the edge of the box and a stunning free kick that left Portsmouth’s defence in tatters.
The Baggies have now secured three consecutive victories, remaining unbeaten with 13 points from their first four games.

Maja’s form has been central to their success, with his goals helping to propel the team to the top of the Championship standings.
As West Brom prepare to host Plymouth next weekend, Maja’s ruthless finishing and constant presence in the box will surely continue to fuel their championship ambitions.
