Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho was in an exciting form on Sunday, scoring a quick-fire brace in just five minutes to inspire Celtic to an emphatic victory over St. Mirren in a Scottish FA Cup semi-final clash.
The Nigerian international came off the bench to score two late goals—the third and fifth—as Celtic thrashed their visitors 6–2 at Hampden Park, Footballrover reports.
Kelechi Iheanacho strikes twice to send Celtic into final
The 29-year-old forward needed just 13 minutes on the pitch to make a huge impact after being introduced in the 83rd minute to replace Yang Hyun-jun.
Iheanacho has now scored three goals in his last three games for the club, following his strike in their 2–1 win over Dundee F.C. on April 5.
The former Leicester City star, who has three league goals to his name, has now taken his overall tally to six goals, along with one assist.
Celtic secured their spot in the Scottish Cup final against Dunfermline Athletic after a breathless victory over St. Mirren.
While the scoreline suggests a blowout, the match was a grueling eight-goal epic that remained undecided until a frantic extra-time period.
Celtic initially appeared to be cruising after Daizen Maeda scored within the first minute, followed by an Anthony Ralston strike just before the break.
However, St. Mirren displayed remarkable resilience. Despite losing goalkeeper Ryan Mullen to injury early on—forcing 17-year-old Grant Tamosevicius into a high-stakes professional debut—the Buddies fought back.
A brace from Mikael Mandron, including a dramatic 91st-minute equaliser, forced the game into extra time.

The deadlock was shattered by a devastating six-minute blitz in the additional period.
Substitute Iheanacho netted twice, while Luke McCowan and Benjamin Nygren—scoring his 20th of the season—added goals to bury St. Mirren’s hopes.
The win sets up an intriguing final on May 23, featuring a managerial showdown between Martin O’Neill and his former player, Neil Lennon.
It marks a repeat of the 2007 final, with Celtic seeking to extend their record-breaking trophy haul.
