Nigerian forward Ahmad Ghali got off the mark in style this season, scoring a crucial goal that helped FC Slovan Liberec clinch their first win in the Czech Liga 1.

His strike led the hosts to a hard-fought 2-1 victory over FK Pardubice in an intense Round 2 encounter at Stadion U Nisy on Sunday, Footballrover reports.
Ahmad Ghali’s Early Second-Half Strike Sets the Tone
The first half was a tight affair, with both Slovan Liberec and Pardubice failing to break the deadlock.
But just two minutes into the second period, Ghali made the breakthrough, firing home to give the home fans something to cheer about.

The 25-year-old attacker, known for his pace and movement, was sharp throughout the game and played for 86 minutes before being replaced by Ghanaian defender Aziz Kayondo.
Afolabi and Letenay Join the Action in Czech Liga 1 Thriller
Though Ghali was the star, his compatriot, 19-year-old midfielder Soliu Afolabi, also featured in the match.
He came on late and contributed during the closing moments to help Slovan Liberec secure all three points.
However, the drama wasn’t over after Ghali’s opener. In the 74th minute, Pardubice hit back through Vojtech Patrak, levelling the match at 1-1.
But just two minutes later, Lukas Letenay struck the decisive goal, restoring Liberec’s lead and sealing the 2-1 win.
This was Slovan Liberec’s first victory of the new Czech Liga 1 campaign, having played out a thrilling 3-3 draw against Mlada Boleslav on matchday one.

Slovan Liberec will travel to face Sigma Olomouc on August 2. Ghali, now high on confidence, will be aiming to continue his scoring form and help his team climb the table early in the season.
