Former Heartland coach Hassan Abdallah has opened up about the vital decision that transformed Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface into a formidable striker.
Abdallah, who takes credit for discovering both Boniface and Ligue 1 sensation Akor Adams, explained the key factors that led to the Super Eagles star’s conversion into a point man, Footballrover reports.
Speaking to Brila FM, the seasoned coach shared how he recognised Boniface’s potential, driven by a combination of three critical qualities that made the forward stand out from the rest.
Height and skill set shaped Boniface’s role
According to Abdallah, it was Boniface’s ability to hold onto the ball, his impressive dribbling skills, and his towering height that caught his attention.
These attributes convinced him that Boniface has all the makings of a top-tier striker.
“I scouted Victor Boniface. He is good because of his height, ball-holding ability, and dribbling, which is why I converted him into a point man,” Abdallah said.
Victor Boniface’s rise has been remarkable, with the striker scoring three goals and providing an assist in just five Bundesliga appearances this season.
