Former Enyimba coach Hassan Abdallah has urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to consider Montpellier’s in-form forward, Akor Adams, for a Super Eagles call-up.
Abdallah believes Adams’ remarkable performances in France’s top flight and his physical ability make him an ideal candidate for the national team, Footballrover reports.
Akor Adams’ power could be a game-changer for Nigeria
Abdallah emphasised the importance of Adams’ strength on the pitch, explaining how his style of play could offer the Super Eagles something they’ve been missing.
Despite scoring consistently in Ligue 1, including 10 goals last season and already contributing three goals and two assists in six matches this term, Adams has yet to be invited to the senior national team.

Abdallah believes that the omission needs to be corrected soon.
“Akor has the strength; he can bully defenders, but his intelligence is 50-50. When Akor is played between central defenders, they don’t move forward; they have to wait.
I’ve expected them to invite him to the national team because he has been doing well,” coach Abdallah said.
57 goals across Europe but still overlooked
Adams, who began his professional journey in 2018 with Norwegian club Sogndal after graduating from Nigeria’s Jamba Football Academy, also featured for the Nigerian squad at the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup.
His European career has been nothing short of impressive, amassing 57 goals and 18 assists in 145 matches.
Yet, despite his numbers and power play, the Super Eagles have yet to call upon the 23-year-old striker.
“He has the power, and we need someone like that,” Abdallah reiterated.
