Arokodare, who has been a solid performer in the Belgian Pro League this season with six goals in ten matches, discussed his national team ambitions in an interview with TribalFootball, Footballrover reports.

The forward’s impressive form has helped push Genk to the top of the league table, raising questions about why the 23-year-old hasn’t received a call-up.

Despite the lack of an invitation, Arokodare remains calm and optimistic.

Rather than expressing frustration, he acknowledged that those currently representing the Super Eagles have earned their place through hard work.

I haven’t been contacted by the NFF, but with time, if I keep performing right and doing the right things, I think I will get that call soon. With me not being called up, I think it’s not my time, and I think the players that are being called up before me worked to be in that position; they deserved every invitation to the Super Eagles,” he said.

The forward stressed the importance of patience and continued effort, trusting that his moment will come if he keeps performing well.

Super Eagles coach opts for experience over Arokodare’s rising form

Super Eagles interim head coach, Augustine Eguavoen, hinted at the possibility of inviting Arokodare for Nigeria’s crucial AFCON qualifiers.

With Victor Osimhen sidelined due to injury, the Genk striker was on the radar.

However, Eguavoen ultimately chose the more experienced Kelechi Iheanacho for the squad, citing Arokodare’s relative inexperience in high-stakes matches as the deciding factor.

Arokodare, however, remains unfazed by the decision. He praised the current Super Eagles lineup, acknowledging the abundance of talent within the squad.

We have a huge talent in our attack, obviously, and the whole squad is full of talents,” he remarked, showing no signs of resentment but rather admiration for his fellow players.

The Genk star is confident that his time with the national team is on the horizon, but until then, he continues to focus on delivering for his club.
