In another commanding display, Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare has once again proven vital for Genk in their league game.

As they faced off against Gent on Sunday in the Belgian Jupiler League, Arokodare broke the deadlock early in the second half, leading his side to a 2-0 win on the road, footballrover reports.

With his latest strike, Tolu continues to prove why he’s such an indispensable asset to Genk’s ongoing title campaign.

The visitors found the breakthrough in the 46th minute when Tolu found the net, marking his eighth goal in 12 appearances this season.

Adding to his impressive tally, he’s also contributed an assist.

The team, already buoyed by last week’s 3-2 victory over St. Truiden—where the 23-year-old striker also opened the scoring—continues to build momentum.

Jarne Steuckers doubled Genk’s lead with a penalty in the 58th minute, ensuring a comfortable cushion.

As the clock wound down, the Nigerian made way for South Korean forward Oh Hyeon-gyu, while another Nigerian, Yira Sor, joined the action in the 78th minute.

Sor, too, has had a steady season with 11 appearances and one goal to his name.

With this latest win, the Smurfs strengthens its grip at the top of the Belgian Jupiler League standings, now boasting 28 points—five points clear of their closest rivals, Royal Antwerp.
