Exciting development recently hit Nigeria Premier League as Niger State Government has gifted a brand new 35-seater bus to Niger Tornadoes Football Club ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
This comes just a month after the team narrowly escaped relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) by just five points, Footballrover reports.
The Minna-based club endured a challenging 2024 season, finishing 15th on the NPFL table with 51 points from 38 matches.
Their record was modest: 14 wins, nine draws, and 15 losses. They were only able to score 38 goals, conceding 41, highlighting the team’s struggles.
Despite the team’s performance, the state government has decided to hand the team a five-star treatment, providing the new bus to enhance the team’s logistics for the upcoming season.
The vehicle was officially handed over to Engr. Ibrahim Dada FNSE, Chairman of the Niger Tornadoes Management Committee, during a ceremony at the Government House in Minna.
The new bus is expected to significantly improve the team’s travel experience as they compete in the NPFL, which kicks off on August 31st.
With this gesture, the Niger State Government hopes to boost the team’s morale and performance in the new season.
