Despite enduring a tough run, Windy remains optimistic that brighter days are ahead for the Promise Keepers, Footballrover reports.

Mohammed Babaganaru’s men are yet to taste victory this season, with a 1-0 defeat to Enyimba marking their second loss in just four days.

The match, played in Aba on Wednesday as part of a rescheduled fixture, only deepened their winless streak, which now includes two draws and two consecutive defeats.

A Temporary Setback for the Promise Keepers

Speaking on the team’s form, Windy stressed that the challenges Akwa United faces are temporary and, in his view, it’s coming at the right time.

The league is a marathon,” he explained. What we are passing through at the moment is just a temporary setback and it’s even better that it’s happening now and that will give us ample time to adjust.”

He expressed full confidence in the team’s ability to turn things around, reassuring fans that the Promise Keepers will soon be back to winning ways.

Hard fight, disappointing result against Enyimba

Reflecting on the recent defeat, Windy acknowledged that Enyimba’s Elephant Park is one of the toughest places to secure a win.

While disappointed that the match did not yield a positive result, he praised his players for their commitment and the effort they showed on the pitch.

We strongly believe that we will come out of this struggle soon enough,” he said.

Akwa United will look to end their winless run when they travel to face Rivers United in Port Harcourt this Sunday.
