In a breathtaking finale, Edo Queens FC emerged champions of the 2024 National Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super 6 championship, thanks to the tactical guidance of Coach Moses Aduku.
With a hard-fought 1-1 draw against hosts Bayelsa Queens FC, Edo Queens secured the title with 10 points from five matches, Footballrover reports.
Coach Aduku, who previously led Bayelsa Queens to the 2022 NWFL title, has now made history by winning the championship with a second team.
Prior to joining Edo Queens, he also won the President Federation Cup with the Prosperity Girls.
It is also the first time Edo Queens FC has won the NWFL title in their history.
With back-to-back league titles, Peace Abbey, who is said to be among the league’s most gorgeous players, also made history.
She previously lifted the trophy with Delta Queens the previous season and now with Edo Queens.
The final match saw Emem Essien score a stunning goal for Edo Queens in the 29th minute, only for Bayelsa Queens’ Zainab Olapade to equalise in the 49th minute.
