Former Rivers United star, Morice Chukwu, has been officially unveiled by Singida Fountain Gate Fc, marking his entry into the Tanzanian Premier League.
Tanzanian Premier League Welcomes Morice Chukwu
The Nigeria U-23 star has committed to a two-year deal and will sport the club’s number 11 jersey until the end of the 2025 campaign.
Having bid farewell to his former team and fans, Morice Chukwu’s departure from the Pride of Rivers was met with mixed emotions.
Despite engaging in discussions with the management and board of directors about his future, the defensive midfielder decided not to renew his contract with the Port Harcourt outfit.
His burning desire to pursue his career elsewhere led him to seek new opportunities.
The move comes after two successful years at Rivers United, where Morice played a vital role in the team’s journey to winning NPFL title in 2021/22 season and the quarter-final stage of the CAF Confederation Cup last season.
His exemplary performances caught the attention of other clubs, with Tanzanian top side, Yanga SC, also expressing interest in the young striker.
However, he ultimately chose Singida Fountain as his next footballing destination.
With this transfer, Singida Fountain Gate Fc has added a dynamic and talented player to their ranks, bolstering their squad for the upcoming seasons.
Morice Chukwu will surely be a huge asset to the team, as they aim for success in the Tanzanian Premier League.
The youngster even featured in their 2-1 win over Congolese side A.S Vita on Wednesday. He also managed to provide an assist in his debut match for the club.
