โI am delighted to be joining NEC. After Ted van Leeuwen, with whom I have always maintained good contact, asked me to start working in Nijmegen, I made a well-considered decision to sign for NEC. After the termination of my contract in Saudi Arabia, I was not yet ready to stop playing football,โ
Wilfried Bony added;
โI had a great time in the Netherlands and I am very happy that I have the opportunity to play in the Eredivisie. While I am aware that this is a sensitive move for some, I expect to be given a fair chance to present myself in a positive way to our supporters. I will do everything I can to get match fit as soon as possible, so that I can be important to the team quickly.โ
