Liverpool have reached a deal to acquire Porto winger Luis Diaz ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline, Footballrover gathered.
The Reds made a late move for the Colombian international, who was supposed to join Tottenham until recently.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will pay a β¬45 million (Β£37.5 million/$50 million) initial price, plus an additional β¬15 million (Β£12.5 million/$17 million) in achievement-related add-ons.
LiverpoolΒ had planned to sign the 25-year-old in the summer, but they moved their interest forward the very moment Spurs advanced theirs.
Julian Ward, the club’s soon-to-be sports director, is spearheading talks with Diaz, who is presently with Colombia in Argentina, and will sign a 5 and half year deal at Anfield.
Liverpool have pencilled in a medical for Luis Diaz in Argentina this weekend. A club delegation is en route.

The Porto Winger, Luis Diaz has faced Liverpool twice in the Champions League this season for Porto, and despite Liverpool winning both games handily, his growth is said to have delighted their scouts.
