Blessing Okpe has thrown her support behind Rivers Angels as the team is on the cusp of making history in the President Federation Cup final, with an unprecedented 10th title within their grasp.

As the PH ladies prepare for this monumental clash, a powerful message of support has arrived from the familiar and beloved figure: their former star, Footballrover reports.
Blessing Okpe’s FA Cup legacy and call to action
Her words aren’t just encouragement; they’re a rallying cry for glory, urging the team to play with passion and belief as they face Nasarawa Amazons.
The ex-NPFL forward knows what it takes to win the FA Cup. She was an inspirational force when the team lifted the trophy in the 2023/24 season, even converting a crucial spot kick that sealed their 1-0 victory over Naija Ratels in the final.

Having joined the Port Harcourt Ladies in 2020 and spending four successful seasons before her move to Amed SK Women, Okpe deeply understands the club’s spirit.
Now plying her trade with Dinamo Minsk in the Belarusian Vysshaya Liga Women, where she’s been in superb form with three goals and two assists in four appearances, Okpe’s heart remains with her former teammates.
She watched their dominant 1-0 semi-final win against Ibom Angels, where Aminat Folorunsho’s 63rd-minute strike secured their place, and she’s been “praying for them” to defend the title.

“Football is very easy when you have good training and a good mindset; it’s not something that’s difficult; it’s just all about the mindset of a player. When you think ahead, you do better,” Okpe said, highlighting the importance of mental fortitude in this crucial FA Cup final.
“But I wish them they can defend it; God will help them,” she added.
Rivers Angels vs. Nasarawa Amazons: A showdown for the ages
The path to the FA Cup final has seen the Garden City side deliver dominant performances, scoring a remarkable 14 goals and conceding just one.

Their journey culminates on June 28 at the historic Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, where they will meet Nasarawa Amazons.
This clash has an extra layer of intrigue: the Amazons last lifted the trophy in 2019, defeating none other than Rivers Angels in a thrilling encounter.
Interestingly, current Amazons captain Josephine Mathias was part of that Rivers team back then, adding another fascinating subplot to this highly anticipated FA Cup final.
Blessing Okpe’s desire for a tenth title isn’t just about statistics; it’s about boosting the morale of newer players who haven’t experienced the exciting atmosphere of an FA Cup final.

Nasarawa Amazons
“I want them to win it again so that it will be a ten-time title for them. So it will really boost the morale of some of the players who have not played an FA Cup final before, who have not had that atmosphere, that feeling of playing in a final game like that,” Okpe noted.
“I’ve already urged all of them to just put everything; they should just put in their best,” she concluded.
