Galatasaray’s recent performances have sparked intense debate, with one name repeatedly standing out—Victor Osimhen.
While the Nigerian forward has been relentless in his efforts, sports commentator Emre Bol has raised a crucial question: Why is Osimhen the only one showing real fight?
Victor Osimhen’s solo effort exposes Galatasaray’s struggles
Speaking on the Ekol Sports YouTube channel, Bol openly criticised Galatasaray’s squad, accusing them of over-relying on Osimhen while lacking hunger and determination, Footballrover reports.
Following the club’s latest disappointing result, his frustration was clear.
“For weeks, Victor Osimhen has been carrying Galatasaray. The others are not showing any effect,” Bol stated.
Since arriving on loan from Napoli, Osimhen has emerged as the team’s driving force.
His energy, leadership, and work rate have set him apart, but the lack of effort from his teammates is becoming increasingly concerning.
This season, the Nigerian forward has been directly involved in 27 goals across 28 appearances, scoring 22 times and providing 5 assists.
In the Turkish Süper Lig Golden Boot race, Osimhen is just two goals behind the current top scorer:
Süper Lig Top Scorers
Krzysztof Piatek – 18
Victor Osimhen – 16
Simon Banza – 16
Youssef En-Nesyri – 15
Ali Sowe – 13
Can Galatasaray survive without the Super Eagles star?
Despite his short-term stay, Osimhen has shown more passion than many of his permanent teammates.
Bol didn’t hold back, highlighting the stark contrast between the striker’s fight and the squad’s lackluster attitude.
“Other players do not show half the fight of Osimhen, who is on loan,” Bol remarked, further criticising their lack of urgency.
Galatasaray’s title hopes are now hanging by a thread. With Osimhen’s loan deal eventually coming to an end, serious concerns remain about how the club will cope if others don’t step up.
Unless his teammates match his intensity, Galatasaray could face a tough road ahead.
Head coach Okan Buruk now faces the challenge of finding solutions and pushing his players to match Osimhen’s energy and commitment.
