Christy Ucheibe Seals Benfica’s Dominant Victory

In Portugal, Estoril Praia hosted Benfica at the Estádio António Coimbra da Mota but could only watch as their visitors cruised to a 4-1 win.

The Liga BPI Women’s Round 2 match on Friday saw Christy Ucheibe wrap up the scoring for Benfica as they secured their second league win of the season.

Benfica came into the game on the back of a narrow 2-1 win over Torreense Women in their season opener.

The action kicked off early for Benfica as Martín-Prieto Gutiérrez gave them the lead just eight minutes into the game.

However, Estoril Praia levelled the score through Sara Brasil, just four minutes before halftime.

Joana Silva made way for Christy Ucheibe 14 minutes after the restart, and an own goal by Daniela Santos handed Benfica the lead again.

With 83 minutes on the clock, Martín-Prieto Gutiérrez doubled her tally to give the visitors a comfortable three-goal cushion.

Just when it seemed the game was winding down, Super Falcons star Ucheibe popped up with a late goal, sealing the victory five minutes before full time.

This win marked Benfica’s fourth consecutive victory, with two in the league and two more in the Champions League qualifiers.

Gift Monday and Rinsola Babajide Lead Tenerife to Big Win

Meanwhile, in Spain’s Liga F, Super Falcons duo Gift Monday and Rinsola Babajide put out a superb show as they inspired Costa Adeje Tenerife to a commanding 4-1 win over Sevilla.

Gift was the standout performer with two goals and an assist, while Rinsola also found the back of the net in the Saturday clash.

In their matchday two fixture at the Football Field Adeje, Gift opened the scoring 22 minutes into the game.

Six minutes later, she turned provider, setting up Rinsola Babajide, who unleashed a screamer from the left wing, catching the goalkeeper off guard with her long-range strike.

Just five minutes before halftime, Gift Monday doubled her tally to give the home side a commanding 3-0 lead at the break.

Spanish midfielder Bicho added a fourth goal just 10 minutes into the second half to seal the win.

Although Nazaret Martín Vázquez pulled one back for Sevilla, the damage was already done as the match ended 4-1.

Gift Monday played the full 90 minutes while her Super Falcons teammate, Rinsola Babajide, was subbed off after 75 minutes, making way for María Pérez.
