KFUM-Kameratene Oslo, a newly promoted football team in the Norwegian Eliteserien, has been making headlines with their unusual pre-match journey—the locker room journey.
Their locker rooms are situated away from the stadium, requiring players and referees to cross a busy road before kickoff, Footballrover reports.
This setup poses an imminent danger due to oncoming traffic, making their pre-match journey one of the most dangerous in professional football.
A Road Safety Lesson in Disguise
At the start of every match, both teams participate in the traditional walkout while holding their young mascots’ hands.
While this may seem like a strange pre-match journey, it also doubles as a road safety lesson.
When you look at it closely, KFUM Oslo workers must wait for cars to pass before stepping out into the middle of the road, teaching the youngsters the importance of road safety.
A Goalless Draw Despite Brann’s Disadvantage
In their recent game against Brann, players from both teams had to cross the road to begin the game.
The match, however, ended goalless after the final whistle, despite Brann being a man down.
KFUM Oslo’s Ambition and Upcoming Matches
Currently 7th in the table with 9 points, KFUM Oslo trails league leaders Bodø/Glimt by just seven points.
Having lost only one of their first six league matches, the team’s passionate manager, Johs Moesgaard, is determined to make a mark in the Eliteserien.
KFUM Oslo will now prepare to face Lysekloster in the Norwegian Cup fourth round later tomorrow.
