In a breathtaking Norwegian Eliteserien clash, the individual brilliance of Mustapha Isah and Wilfred Igor, who each contributed a goal and an assist, ultimately couldn’t save Kristiansund BK from a hard-fought 4-2 defeat in a six-goal spectacle against Brann.

Despite the Nigerian duo’s impactful performance, the team succumbed to their second consecutive loss, Footballrover reports.

Mustapha Isah and Wilfred Igor: A glimmer of hope

Isah, a promising 20-year-old winger, netted Kristiansund’s second goal, while his 20-year-old compatriot, midfielder Igor, provided the assist for their first.

This spirited fightback occurred at the Brann Stadion, but Brann’s early dominance proved too much to overcome.

This loss follows a narrow 1-0 defeat to Viking in their last outing, compounding Kristiansund’s recent struggles.

Brann started ferociously, establishing a commanding lead with a ruthless attacking display.

Bard Finne opened the scoring in the 4th minute, followed by an Aune Heggebø double barely 14 minutes on the clock and eight minutes later, putting them 3-0 up.

However, Kristiansund showed resilience, launching a quickfire response. Ruben Kristensen scored in the 30th minute, thanks to an assist from the lively Wilfred Igor.

Ten minutes later, Isah coolly finished to bring the score to 3-2. Just as Kristiansund looked to build momentum, their hopes were dashed a minute later when Finne struck again, restoring Brann’s two-goal advantage before halftime.

The second half began with drama as Sander Kilen found the net for Kristiansund, only for the goal to be ruled offside.

From that point, Brann effectively managed the game, thwarting any further threats from Kristiansund to secure all three points in a match filled with first-half excitement.

This defeat sees Isah, Igor, and their Kristiansund BK teammates slip to 9th place in the league table with 13 points.

Their next challenge will be against Rosenborg with the hopes of bouncing back on track.
