Super Eagles star player – Alex Iwobi has reassured his supporters and well-wishers that he will soon be back to full fitness after being forced to leave Friday’s FA Cup match due to injury.
Everton suffered a 3-1 FA Cup defeat against Manchester United on Friday, a game that saw Alex Iwobi stretched off while the scoreline was still a 1-1 tie at Old Trafford.
The 26-year-old sustained an ankle injury and was taken out for Doucoure on a stretcher following Tyrell Malacia’s challenge.
Early in the second half of the game, the Nigerian international fell awkwardly after a reckless challenged by the defender, and was later withdrawn on a stretcher.
Frank Lampard, however, said on Saturday that Alex Iwobi will have to undergo a scan in the hopes that the injury is not severe.
His injury will be a major setback for Lampard, who is trying to build up Everton’s prospects of remaining in the Premier League.
The Super Eagles star has appeared and started each of the Toffees’ 18 league games thus far this campaign, grabbing one goal and five assists.
Iwobi played well for the Toffees prior to getting injured, providing opportunities that were largely untapped before being substituted.
To aid Everton in their fight against Premier League relegation, the former Arsenal player will be hoping to recover in time for their league matches ahead.
With a heavy heart, the midfielder, who will be out for three weeks took to his social media page to assure fans that he will soon be back to action.
His message reads;
“Appreciate The Love, Back Soon.”
