Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is still in excruciating pain after Atletico Madrid knocked the Ralf Rangnick side out of the Champions League on Tuesday.
The goalkeeper expressed his displeasure with his team’s elimination from the competition on social media.
David De Gea admitted that he and his teammates did not do enough to overcome the Spanish team in both home and away games, but it is now up to them to reclaim their pride.
United must channel their fury over the setback and use it as fuel to improve, learn, achieve, and challenge again, according to De Gea.
United are far from where they want to be, according to the 31-year-old, but as players, they will go all out for the final Premier League games in order to secure a Champions League spot.
David De Gea wrote on his official Twitter page – @D_DeGea;
“It’s taken me a few days to be able to talk about my intense disappointment from our Champions League exit.
We didn’t do enough over the two games but this is on us. We must use this as energy to improve ourselves, to learn, to achieve and challenge again. That is all we can do in this tough moment. I have said many times that we are far away from where we want to be but, we as players will go again for the remaining Premier League games.”
