Kelechi Iheanacho back with a bang, scores 16th FA Cup goal vs Football League Two side

The Super Eagles forward gave the Brendan Rodgers team the lead with an incisive strike in their English FA Cup match against Football League Two side – Gillingham.

Gillingham defenders failed to clear the ball after it fell into the box, Iheanacho took advantage of the situation by smashing the ball from close range into the roof of the net.

Kelechi Iheanacho should have grabbed a double in the game after Marc Albrighton delivered a through ball, but he was caught offside.

The Nigerian international obviously loves scoring in the FA Cup as he has managed to find back of the net 16 times in his 22 appearances.

The Leicester forward has scored more FA Cup goals since his debut appearance in the competition in January 2016 than any other player.

Finding a formation that features Kelechi Iheanacho more often might be one of Brendan’s biggest failures.

The Nigerian forward remains a serious threat whenever he features for Leicester City.

The 26-year-old needs to be played into shape by Leicester’s coach, who should essentially stop giving him 10-minute appearances once every two weeks so he can develop his confidence.

Senior man Kelz might not be getting regular minutes in the League but in the FA Cup, he’s a star player and remains the highest scoring African in FA Cup History. Next in line is still Drogba (12).
