Rivers Angels Football Club has bid an emotional farewell to two of its standout players, Blessing Okpe and Olamide Adugbe, as they embark on new chapters in their footballing careers abroad.
Footballrover had earlier reported that Okpe signed a two-year deal with Amed Sportif Faaliyetler Kulübü in Turkey, while Adugbe is set to join Italy’s Napoli Femminile on a one-year contract with an option for an additional two years.
The club’s general manager, Mrs. Matilda Otuene-Onyiloha, expressed her admiration for the contributions of both players.
According to Matilda, their dedication and passion during their time with the team were highly valued, and they left a lasting impact on the squad.
Otuene-Onyiloha also noted that their hard work and commitment will serve as a source of inspiration for future generations of players at Rivers Angels as the club continues its journey to greatness.
Blessing Okpe leaves Rivers Angels after four memorable seasons, where she emerged as a key player.
Her remarkable form last season saw her net eight crucial goals, which played a vital role in the team’s FA Cup success.
The move to Amed Sportif marks an exciting new chapter for Okpe as she looks to test her skills on foreign soil in Turkey.
Meanwhile, Olamide Adugbe, who spent time on loan at Rivers Angels from Naija Ratels, is headed for Italy to join Napoli Femminile.
Adugbe had a brief stint at the club, where she also put in her best, and now she looks to make her mark in the highly competitive Italian Serie B.
With an option to extend her contract, Adugbe’s future in Italy holds promising potential.
