Graham Potter, the head coach of Chelsea, is so optimistic that Reece James, who was pulled off the field during Tuesday’s 2-0 victory over AC Milan, has averted a catastrophic knee injury.
Around the hour mark, the England right-back looked to have landed unexpectedly on his right leg, hurting his knee, as he was carrying out another incredible performance for the Blues.
The 22-year-old resumed the game after receiving treatment, although he was only able to play for a little while before slumping once more and subsequently left the field while limping.
Fortunately, James left the field after full-time without the aid of a crutch, showing early signs of improvement. However, Potter did not give a firm assessment of the defender’s condition prior to the scan’s results.
But shortly after the game, Reece James took to his Twitter page to reassure his fans and well wishers that he’s fine and will eventually recover soon.
“Fingers crossed itβs not a bad one π€πΎ Love for all the messages, I appreciate you all.” – he said.

The injury was the one drawback to Chelsea’s great performance in another European competition.
“Reece, weβre hoping heβll be OK. Weβll need 24-48 hours because itβs too early to tell you anything more than that.” – The Chelsea boss added.
The Graham Potter’s men benefited from a contentious refereeing decision when Fikayo Tomori, a former Chelsea defender, was sent off midway through the first half for a challenge on Mason Mount in the penalty area.
