Champions League: Mo Salah the hat-trick hero as Liverpool demolish Rangers

Following a scoreless first half, Liverpool completely demolished Rangers in the second, netting six goals and crushing the hosts 7-1, all thanks to their hat-trick hero Mo Salah.Champions League: Mo Salah the hat-trick hero as Liverpool demolish Rangers

The fastest-ever Champions League hat-trick was scored by Mo Salah, who entered the game with just 22 minutes remaining and scored three goals in the next six minutes.

Rangers provided little, but Jurgen Klopp will be thrilled with his performance on the field given Salah’s return to scoring and a +6 goal difference as they attempt to defend the European championship they last won in 2019.

With two goals and one assist in Liverpool’s opening three goals, Firmino was by far the team’s finest player.

Salah was introduced, though, and the Egyptian made an appearance that could only be described as extraordinary.

He had four shots, all of which were on goal, and he scored three goals and assisted Elliott’s fourth.

He only had six touches in the penalty area and one entry into the final third, but he delivered when it mattered to set yet another Reds scoring record.

Rangers are eliminated since they are now in the bottom spot in Group A and have no prospect of moving on to the next round.

While Liverpool is still in the fight for a spot in the round of 16, they are currently three points right behind Italian Serie A side – Napoli.

Jurgen Klopp’s team scored seven goals at Ibrox, but they would have required another seven to catch with Napoli, who had a staggering +13 goal differential.
