Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale has formally left the Spanish La Liga team and is reportedly on his way to the Major League Soccer.
According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Gareth Bale has joined Los Angeles FC on a free transfer.
The winger has chosen to sign with LAFC on a one-year contract using targeted allocation funds. The agreement would end in June of next year, at the halfway point of the 2023 campaign.
After helping Wales qualify for the 2022 World Cup, Bale’s Real Madrid contract expires this month, and he has been searching for a new team.
The five-time Champions League title holder has been strongly linked with a transfer to Cardiff City, but he has his sights set in the United States.
Bale is leaving European football to try new things in the MLS, even though Wales will play the USMNT in their opening group-stage encounter in Qatar.
Prior to that, Bale’s acquisition would help LAFC, who are currently in the lead for the Supporters’ Shield and have also signed Giorgio Chiellini. The MLS transfer window opens at the beginning of next month.
The LAFC’s first game after that one is El Trafico against LA Galaxy rivals.
