Goals from Camavinga, Modrić, Benzema and Asensio helped Real Madrid demolish Real Sociedad 4-1 in their La Liga game at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Sociedad’s early penalty was all in vain, as the Carlo Ancelotti’s side cruised to a comfortable home victory.

Real Madrid overcame an early setback to take a 2-1 lead into the half-time break after a dramatic end to the first half.

Real Sociedad took the lead after just ten minutes, as Carvajal’s poor charge brought Silva down inside the penalty area, allowing Oyarzabal to score from the penalty spot.

Sadly, after taking the lead, the visitors displayed poor effort, allowing pressure to mount on them and handing Real Madrid ball close to goal in a clumsy manner on several occasions.

With just five minutes remaining, Camavinga’s 35-yard strike pulled the hosts level, and Ancelotti’s side sought to add a second via Benzema, who was finally ruled offside.

But he later made amends 60 seconds later, by setting up Modric for a beautiful strike that sent Remiro into his second full-stretch dive.

Benzema eventually got his name on the scoreboard after scoring twice only to have both goals reversed for offside, but he did actually score a penalty past Remiro with a quarter-hour left following a foul on Vinicius inside the box.

Late in the game, Asensio heaped insult to injury by converting Carvajal’s selfless feed just two minutes after coming in.

Real Madrid’s lead at the top of the table has been extended to eight points, while Real Sociedad has remained in sixth place.

Real Madrid has a key Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek before a LaLiga match against Mallorca on Monday.

While Real Sociedad will play Deportivo Alaves on March 14 in their next match.
