In a momentous event on Monday, Kano Pillars’ iconic player, Rabiu Ali, fondly known as ‘Pele’ by his passionate fans, received the prestigious G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time) football award from the Northern Football Media Forum.

This distinguished honor was proudly sponsored by Flight Sports, Nasarawa FA, and Basira FC, Footballrover reports.

The Vice Chairman of Lobi Stars, Dominic Iorfa, presented the award, hailing it as a well-deserved recognition and commending the Northern Football Media Forum for their visionary initiative.

Iorfa also expressed gratitude to the sponsors for their key role in supporting the forum’s vision.

Adding to the accolades, Rabiu Ali was adorned with the award by Flight Sports CEO, Club President of Flight FC Gboko, Board Member of Benue State Football Association, Chairman of Buruku FA, and Board Member of Flight Transport Limited, Mr. Andiir Solomon, representing all the sponsors.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of Rabiu Ali’s Discovery Coach, Coach Thomas Gboro, who proudly decorated him, symbolising the nation’s pride in the veteran player.

Making history, Rabiu Ali Pele became the first top-flight player to receive such recognition from the organisation, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career.

Expressing gratitude, the president of the association, Alexander Achigbe George, thanked everyone who supported this monumental achievement.

He urged enthusiasts to anticipate more recognitions from the association, emphasising their commitment to celebrating individuals who have uniquely contributed to football’s growth in Nigeria and beyond.
