Enyimba FC striker Anthony Okachi has finally bid farewell to the team, announcing his departure from the club after a one-year spell marked by both accomplishments and injury setbacks.
According to reports, Enyimba and Anthony Okachi decided to mutually terminate his contract.
The 23-year-old forward, who joined the Aba Elephants on a free transfer in July 2023, expressed a mix of sadness and gratitude in his farewell message, Footballrover reports.
“It is with a mix of sadness and gratitude that I say goodbye to Enyimba FC. My time at the club has come to an end, and I’m moving on to new challenges,” Okachi wrote on his social media page.
Okachi acknowledged the support he received during his time with the club, thanking the management, coaches, and teammates for the opportunities he was given.
He reflected fondly on his achievements with Enyimba, highlighting the memories he will cherish.
“I am proud of what we achieved together,” he continued, “and I will always cherish the memories.”
Okachi’s departure comes before the expiration of his two-year contract, signed in July 2023.
The former Abia Comets FC and Shooting Stars player, brought to Enyimba by coach Finidi George, battled injuries throughout his time with the club.
Despite earlier reports of a potential return to Shooting Stars, Footballrover understands that a deal has stalled due to personal disagreements between the player and the club.
Okachi is currently without a club after spending 349 days with Enyimba.
The striker is now being chased by Lobi Stars, Ikorodu City and Abia Warriors for his signature.
