Nigerian wonderkid Elijah Odede has secured a move to FC Sheriff, marking a major step in his budding career.
The 18-year-old forward, who has been making waves in youth football, is now set to show all that talent in the Moldovan Super Liga, Footballrover reports.
But what made Sheriff move swiftly for his signature?
Elijah Odede signs exciting deal with Sheriff
Born in Ogbomosho on January 12, 2007, Elijah Odede completed his switch from Ikon Allah Football Academy to FC Sheriff after passing his medical.
The deal, brokered by Israeli super agent Ronny Layous, sees the Nigerian striker commit to an undisclosed deal with the Moldovan giants.
Before his move, Odede honed his skills at Castle Football Academy and Ikon Allah Football Academy, earning a reputation as a lethal finisher.
His development caught the sheriff’s attention, leading to a swift agreement between all parties.
Odede impresses before official announcement
Although his signing has just been confirmed, Odede has already shown glimpses of his potential.
This winter, he featured in Sheriff’s friendly matches, scoring twice—once in a 5-0 win over FC Milsami and another in a 1-3 loss to FC Petrokub.
His grassroot club, Castle Football Academy acknowledged his departure on social media, writing, “Our academy product signed for FC Sheriff.”
With his goal-scoring instinct and raw talent, Odede is expected to bring joy and excitement in his new journey in Moldova.
