The match at Krytyj Futbolnyj Manesh started with a bang as Rasheed Akanbi wasted no time, opening the scoring in the 3rd minute.
Elijah Odede followed suit, doubling the lead in the 10th minute. Sheriff continued their relentless attack, with Papa Yade making it 3-0 just after halftime.
Akanbi struck again in the 51st minute before Vladimer Mamuchashvili converted a penalty to push the scoreline to 5-0.
With momentum on their side, Alesio Mija added a sixth goal in the 67th minute. Akanbi then sealed his hat-trick in the 70th minute before netting his fourth in the 89th minute.
Rasheed has now found the net seven times in his last three matches, including two hat-tricks, having previously led FC Sheriff to an 8-0 victory over FC Floresti before a goalless draw against FC Balti.
Odede rounded off the rout with his second goal in the 86th minute, capping off a dream debut night for the Nigerian youngster.
Sheriff extend unbeaten streak ahead of tougher tests
Sheriff Tiraspol’s commanding performance not only secured their place in the next round but also extended their unbeaten run to 13 matches, with ten wins and three draws.
Their last defeat came on August 15, 2024, but with this kind of momentum, they now shift focus to their upcoming Moldova Super Liga Championship Group clash against Sparta Selemet.
