Deputy seals victory for FC Zakho in Iraq
Former Rivers United star Echeta Deputy was the hero for FC Zakho in the Iraq Stars League, scoring the decisive goal in their 2-1 home victory over Al Naft.
With the game tied at 1-1 and Al Naft down to ten men, Deputy stepped up in the 67th minute to fire home the match-winner, sealing all three points for his side.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Okoronkwo also made his mark in Iraq, netting in first-half stoppage time to secure AL Karkh’s 1-0 away win over AL Quwa.
Edun inspires Peterborough, Oshilaja and Buhari also shine
In England, Tayo Edun delivered a crucial moment for Peterborough, scoring the only goal in their 1-0 League One victory over Cambridge United.
The left-back’s attacking contributions continue to impress, with three goals and two assists in 15 appearances this season.
Elsewhere, Adedeji Oshilaja was the match-winner for Mansfield Town, guiding them to a 2-1 triumph over Barnsley with his fourth goal of the campaign.
