The Nigerian Super Eagles B striker’s move to the Pride of Rivers in August 2023 on a free transfer has now come to an unexpected end, as he parted ways with the team in December.

The announcement of Martin’s exit was disclosed by Paul Michael via his X page, formerly known as Twitter, Footballrover reports.

The 22-year-old forward had returned triumphantly to the Pride of Rivers, signing a one-year contract with the former champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League.

His stint at Tunisian club Tataouine prior to joining the NPFL side saw him struggle to make an impact, featuring in just seven games and facing difficulties in finding his scoring form.

Despite initial plans for a move to Sweden’s Östers IF, visa and time constraints hindered this transfer.

Upon joining the Port Harcourt-based outfit, Martin faced stiff competition from players like Nyima Nwagua and Ivorian talent Bernard Kouassi for a coveted starting position in the first team.

However, under Stanley Eguma’s management, he failed to meet expectations and secure a spot in the starting lineup, prompting his decision to seek opportunities elsewhere.

The young and energetic forward, formerly of Lobi Stars, has set his sights on revitalizing his career elsewhere, seeking a fresh start to reignite his football journey.
