Former Shooting Stars goalkeeper Darlintin Ovunda has announced his departure from the Oluyole Warriors after just seven months with the club.
The move comes after both parties mutually agreed to terminate his contract, Footballrover reports.
Ovunda, a proven winner who lifted the NPFL title with Rivers United in the 2021/22 season, expressed his gratitude to his former coaches, teammates, and fans in a statement posted on his X page (formerly Twitter).
He also revealed his excitement about joining Heartland, stating his ambition to help them achieve their set goals and targets.
This transfer marks another turn in Ovunda’s recent career, which has seen him move between clubs in search of regular playing time.
He struggled to displace Sochima Victor at Rivers United before finding himself in a similar situation at Shooting Stars.
Heartland, currently battling relegation, will be hoping that Ovunda’s experience and winning mentality can provide a much-needed boost to their campaign.
My time with 3SC has come to an end after both parties agreed to mutually end the agreement. Thank you to my coaches, teammates and fans for their time during my stay at the club.

The Naze Millionaires are aiming to move up the table when the NPFL resumes.
Ovunda’s arrival will surely add depth and competition to Heartland’s goalkeeping department.
His experience and winning record suggest he could challenge for the starting role, potentially raising the overall standard of goalkeeping at the club.
However, the goalie should be concerned about going from a team ranked 11th in the NPFL standings with 26 points to a team at the bottom of the table with little chance of survival.
